In 1972 a group of citizens went to the Brookings County Commission to request permission for a city arts festival.
With a $1000 donation and a blessing from the city, the festival was on its way.
Currently there are over 200 artists'
booths, about 40 food booths, 16 historic booths, and 10 antique booths. In addition to the booths there are children's activities,
a living history area and entertainment on 4 stages. Products made in South Dakota will be offered this year.

Pioneer Park, Brookings, SD
Parking is limited around the Park; busses will shuttle people to the Park from Lowe's for a small fee.
